Jarrow Formulas Ashwagandha Review: Sometimes One Ingredient Isn’t Enough

Jarrow-Formulas-Ashwagandha-ReviewJarrow Formulas’ Ashwagandha is one of the more interesting brain enhancers that we’ve seen. Weirdly enough, it only has one ingredient: ashwagandha. However, the fact of the matter is that there have been quite a few great reviews available for it out there on the internet. Unlike other smart pills that we’ve reviewed before, this one comes in a much smaller size, being only 225 mg. With the standard being around 750mg, can this single ingredient, at a relatively small dosage, compete?

Ashwagandha?

Ashwagandha is an Indian herb, locally known as Indian Ginseng. In some studies, it has been shown to reduce the symptoms of anxiety and also the treatment of ADD/ ADHD symptoms. It improves attention while also improving focus and concentration. Aside from this, there really aren’t any more uses of Ashwagandha, in relation to the brain.

This makes us wonder how it scored so high in other reviews. Only tackling one of the few things that most other nootropics offer, it can’t be taken seriously, especially when taken into consideration the hundreds of other products available out there.

One ingredient

The fact that there is only one ingredient brings to light how it could have gotten such a high score. It simply cannot compete. There have been one-ingredient nootropics that have done well in the past, though. ALCAR or Alpha GPC or even Piracetam are all great single-ingredient nootropics. However, that’s due to the many effects that one ingredient offers. Ashwagandha doesn’t.

Is it worth it?

Not really. Ashwagandha might not offer a lot in terms of nootropic benefits. Being just one ingredient, there are several others out there that are better than it. This fact is even more brought to light when you take into consideration the fact that it costs $21 for a bottle of 120. It’ll depend on you how much you take per day to see how long a bottle will last. However, even for the small price, you’re probably better off trying other brain enhancers out there. There are certainly a lot better.
